Justin works with students on test preparation, academic coaching, admissions strategy, and essay support. But the work goes beyond content. He pays close attention to how each student learns, what motivates them, and how they perform under pressure. Study habits, sleep, nutrition, and mindset on test day are all part of the conversation.
The goal is straightforward: get into the right school. Everything else — the score, the application, the essays — is in service of that end.
Every program is built around the individual. What works for one student won't work for another, and Justin works closely with both student and parent to build a program that reflects that.
About Justin
The person behind the program.
Justin didn't set out to become a tutor. After Georgetown and a Master's from Yale, he was deep into a PhD program at UCLA when he decided academia wasn't the path for him. He found a job at one of the country's top tutoring and academic consulting firms, started working with students, and discovered that he genuinely loved helping students reach their dream schools. He spent the next decade working with hundreds of students across test preparation, admissions strategy, and beyond before founding TKO Prep in 2024.
What makes Justin effective isn't just his academic background or his years of experience. It's that students actually want to work with him. He has a way of making rigorous preparation feel less daunting — meeting students where they are, earning their trust, and then pushing them harder than they'd push themselves.
